Description

The San Gabriel Valley Chinese Cultural Association (SGVCCA) Spring Banquet is coming up on April 27th, 2024 and SGVCCA would like to offer you an exciting opportunity to showcase your company’s goods or services while supporting SGVCCA’s mission.

SGVCCA is a non-profit that since 1968 has kept Chinese traditions alive in Southern California by performing cultural Lion & Dragon dances in front of tens of thousands annually. In 2023, SGVCCA had 100 performances, including weddings, business openings, city festivals, and special community events at prestigious locations including the Getty Center and the Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Crowds break out with the biggest smiles when approached by a blinking, curious lion or when Barney, our steam-breathing red dragon manned by over 15 people, weaves its way along a parade.  To develop the skills needed for these performances, SGVCCA holds free classes twice a week, training our youth group in artistry and physical stamina, as well as in the discipline and leadership skills needed to work successfully as a team.

Running the program can prove expensive. Our goal is to raise $30,000 annually to cover our costs. These costs include funding a scholarship program, providing a safe practice facility, maintaining the van that carries our equipment to performance sites throughout Southern California, and purchasing new hand-made lions and dragons.

You can help support our mission of spreading Chinese culture through lion and dragon dance in two main ways. The first is donating money to help fund the SGVCCA’s activities. The second is by donating your products or services to be showcased through a raffle, auction, or presented in a swag bag at our Spring Banquet — our biggest event of the year!

Regardless of you how choose to help, your contribution will be acknowledged in multiple ways, including:

A banquet feature in membership emails and social media campaigns
Your company graphic on banquet media (digital screens, printed materials, and banners)
Special acknowledgment during the banquet

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit and your donations and contributions are tax-deductible. Finally, a list of corporate sponsorship options is also enclosed for your consideration. For more information and to get involved, please contact us at events@sgvcca.org.

We thank you in advance for your support of SGVCCA and its activities and look forward to hearing from you!
