Description

Dear Friends,

One in 36 children.  One in 4 boys. According to the CDC, that is the number of children diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD), a group of developmental disabilities that can cause significant social, com

munication and behavioral challenges. There is no known cause and no single treatment method for autism, but there is hope.

The Autism Society of Berks County continues in our mission to create connections, empowering everyone in the Autism community with the necessary resources to live fully and successfully. The threads of our logo symbolize the connections our families, professionals, and our community have with one another. We are excited to share that in addition to free monthly family events, we offer music therapy groups, social connections groups, and yoga therapy groups to more than 110 children free of charge each week. We need your support to continue to do this year after year.

Our 22nd  Annual "Walk for Autism Awareness and Acceptance" will be held on Sunday September 21, 2025, at the Reading Fightin Phils FirstEnergy Stadium. We ask that you support the walk, our major fundraiser of the year. All funds raised remain in our community helping local families impacted by autism. Ways businesses and individuals can support the Walk include:

Becoming a business sponsor by making a monetary, tax-deductible donation
Donating gift certificates or products for raffle prizes
Donating small items such as pens, key chains, or discount coupons for the
participant goody bags.

Thank you for your consideration as we "Walk for Autism Awareness and Acceptance". If you have any questions, please contact us by email (walk@autismsocietyofberkscounty.org) or leave a message on our phone line at 610-736-3739.

With best regards,

Maureen Klahr    President Board of Directors
