United Way of North Central Massachusetts’ (UWNCM) is excited to announce that the 28th Annual Day of Caring will be held on September 15th, 2023. This is our largest volunteer event of the year, capitalizing on community volunteerism to complete projects for our non-profit partners throughout the region. The Day of Caring is our call to action, and we need your support!

On this day, individuals come together to mobilize the caring power of our community. Corporate employees comprise a large segment of the volunteer base, which also includes community residents, youth groups and college students. Many companies utilize the event as a day of team building for their employees. Projects that are submitted vary, but often include site cleanup and beautification, as well as clerical or technical assignments. This exciting day begins with a kick-off breakfast where volunteers fuel up and receive instructions about their projects. When projects are completed, volunteers rejoin for a celebratory barbecue (provided by Hannaford Supermarket) and raffles. It is a day filled with spirit, unity, and great accomplishments.

Last year, we had over 600 volunteers complete more than 50 projects with our nonprofit partners. This event, which grows in size each and every year, helps us bring in new volunteers while reuniting with those who have joined us in the past.
