I am writing you today on behalf of the Ethan Joner Memorial Foundation. Ethan Joner was 15 years old when he tragically died after completing a shift as a lifeguard at his local pool in July 2023. It was later found that Ethan had an undiagnosed case of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a heart condition which makes it difficult for the heart to pump blood. The Ethan Joner Memorial Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded to honor Ethan’s legacy of kindness, community involvement and outreach. Described by his peers and loved ones as a gentle, funny, loving, and heroic young man, Ethan touched hundreds of lives in his local community before his passing. From his involvement with multiple area sports clubs such as the Collingdale Bulldogs, Academy Park HS Knights, and Folcroft Stingrays, to his time spent volunteering with the Folcroft Boys & Girls Club as a T-Ball coach, Ethan worked diligently to make an impact in his community. Even after his untimely passing, Ethan was able to achieve his life’s goal of helping others when he was able to save the lives of over 100 people through tissue donations to the Gift of Life Donor Program.
Now in our second year, we at Ethan Joner Memorial Foundation work diligently to honor Ethan’s legacy through acts of kindness, community outreach, and an annual scholarship, which is funded through donations, memberships, and fundraising events. We have multiple annual fundraising events which include toy drives, sporting events, and gift card bingo.
This is where you come in. I am writing you today to request a donation to be used to aid in our fundraising efforts. We are requesting a tax-deductible donation which we can as a door prize or raffle item at the 2nd Annual Gift Card Bingo scheduled for Saturday March 1st, 2025, at the newly opened Ethan Joner Community Center in Folcroft, PA. I believe this donation would be mutually beneficial as it would not only help our foundation raise money for a good cause, but it would also be a great chance to advertise your business to the 300+ people in attendance.
