Description

Whether by first or second-hand experience, we all likely have a Hospice story.  When Dementia and Parkinson’s became too much for my grandmother’s mind and body to handle, we, along with her doctor, made the difficult decision to call Franklin VNA & Hospice.  They were amazing with my grandmother and our entire family.  They educated all of us about her disease(s), made a plan with her to make and keep her comfortable and were available for any questions, night or day.  In the last days of her life, they taught us how to help care for her.  We learned how to administer comfort medications, how to move her, and even what to expect as the end came nearer.  Please know that my grandmother was 90 and led an incredible life, but we were still very sad to be losing her. That said, they gave us the peace of mind we needed in order to say goodbye, and know that her final moments were good ones.

Franklin VNA & Hospice is a small, independent non-profit Home Health and Hospice agency located in Franklin, NH.  FVNA & Hospice provides end-of-life care to patients and their families in their home or in a facility they call “home”.  Last year, we provided 3,607 visits to 79 Hospice patients in both Belknap and Merrimack Counties, in towns from Salisbury to Gilmanton.  The rising costs of medications, durable medical equipment (DME) and other vital medical necessities is an avoidable burden many families may encounter. Hospice care is administered to patients based on their need, and not their ability to pay.  Unfortunately, there are times when insurance payments simply do not cut it.  This is when proceeds from your gracious donations make all the difference, giving us the means to provide grief and bereavement support groups throughout the year to those who have lost a loved one-at no expense to them.

We are seeking donation items for silent and live auctions at our Second Annual Hospice Ball on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 5:00 pm. This event will be held in the beautiful barn at Newfound Lake Inn in Bristol, NH. This event is our largest annual fundraiser and specifically benefits our hospice program.  This event brings together 150 community members from all over for an evening of dinner, dancing, and most importantly-fundraising. Last year’s Hospice Ball was a success and we raised over $6,000 due to generous people like yourself, who donated, sponsored and attended the event. Please join us in making this year even more successful!

Your donation is tax deductible. Our 501(c)(3) number is 02-0228247. Each donor is mentioned by name, giving you public recognition at the event and featured in a post on our Facebook page.
