Description

On Saturday June 3rd, I will join over 250 people at the 2nd Annual SCFFL Foundation / David Rose Memorial Golf Tournament with the goal of helping improve the health of children with the 22q deletion, a syndrome often requiring children to have heart and digestive surgeries not long after birth.

As we did last year, we want to celebrate the Memory of a beloved friend and surgeon who passed away, Dr. David Rose.

The goal is to raise at least $45,000 with this golf tournament. Along with the 22q Family Foundation, we are adding another beneficiary to this year's fundraiser. "Skills of Life Cafe" is a non-profit local organization who teaches people with mild to moderate mental disabilities to learn skills allowing them to find and keep employment. Please, help me and other already committed sponsors, reach that goal with your sponsorship. Your donation is of course tax deductible.

The SCFFL Foundation goal is to help financially support the two charities equally. Half of the proceeds will help the 22q families through the devastating effects of this syndrome and provide some relief while their child spends weeks in hospitals. The second half will be to support the operations of SOL "Skills Of Life Cafe" We are hoping that by making a pledge to the Foundation, your business will be helping fund research and local services to those affected and in need.

I have a personal stake in this particular event. A close friend has a 9 year old boy living with the 22q syndrome. Not only do I want to help them, but also the many others diagnosed with the 22q deletion syndrome. This is a genetic disorder that affects multiple organs but is treatable with early surgeries and life long therapies.

As a thank you for your support, the SCFFL Foundation will place a sign with your business name and logo on one of the holes at the Seascape golf course during the tournament as well as on the tournament website and in media publications. We will also mention the name of your business at the already generously sponsored banquet following the tournament. There will be 232 golfers, as well as business owners and many more people volunteering for the tournament which will allow for great positive exposure of your generosity. Last year, our event was given a write up in a local paper (the Register Pajaronian), and we anticipate positive coverage for 2023 as well.

There are multiple ways to contribute. A $300 sponsorship allows for a strategically placed sign at a hole. For a $1000 sponsorship, you may have a table set up, with representation. In the past, some sponsors elected to go all in and donated for either the ‘hole in one’ or the ‘Longest drive’ contest by contributing $1500-$2000. The ‘hole in one’ is exciting as the prize is $10,000 cash (insured)! It is a great place to have your business name as everyone will pay special attention to the contests.

We also are holding a raffle and a silent auction as a donation option. Last year's auction brought in 30% of our funds and allowed for more sponsors to get involved with our great cause. I feel this could be a good option for you as well.

The deadline to get the sponsor pledges in is by May 25th. Following the event, I will send out a brief recap of the SCFFL Foundation Golf Tournament to all the sponsors.

Please call me if you have any questions or comments about the SCFFL fundraising tournament. I can be reached via this email or at 831-332-4815 Thank you in advance for your support.

Sincerely, Marc DesChesnes, President/Founder,
