Description

Join us at the 2nd Annual TARRANT COUNTY Guns and Hoses “Remember the Fallen” Golf Tournament! If you have never played in a Gun and Hoses golf tournament, you will not want to miss out!

It is with great honor that the Grand Prairie Police Department and the “Sgt. Gregory L. Hunter 11th Annual “Remember the Fallen” Memorial Golf Tournament” present our partnership with the Guns and Hoses Foundation of North Texas, as we host the 2nd Annual Tarrant County Guns and Hoses “Remember the Fallen” golf tournament.

This partnership effort will bring awareness to Tarrant County of the Guns and Hoses Foundation, while also continuing our tradition of honoring the remembrance, service and sacrifice of Grand Prairie Police Sergeant Gregory L. Hunter, 30-year veteran, who was tragically murdered by an armed fugitive at the Grand Prairie Walmart on June 18, 2004, Grand Prairie Officer Lyndon F. King, who was struck and killed by a drunk driver while working an accident scene on I-30 near the 7th Street overpass, as well as all officers and firefighters across our nation.

The Sgt. Gregory L. Hunter Memorial Fund provides (2) $1000 scholarships each year, as well as support areas of need at the Grand Prairie Police Department, community and other related law enforcement endeavors.

The Guns and Hoses Foundation of North Texas, a non-profit 501(c)(3), was founded in 2002. The Foundation offers support and provides immediate financial assistance to surviving families within 48-hours of an officer/fire fighter line of duty death, funds at Christmas first year, no questions asked scholarship to each dependent child of the fallen upon graduation, funds for at-risk youth and children’s charities. To date, this Foundation has served 55 families, including over 50 children in the DFW Metroplex and surrounding areas.
