St. Matthew’s Catholic School was established in Hampton Roads in 1963. For over 56 years, we have been providing academic excellence to students of all faiths from Early Learners age 2 through 8th grade. For 30 years, we have held an annual Holiday Auction & Gala in order to raise money for classroom improvements, teaching aids, tuition technology upgrades, and maintenance. Due to the success of this and our other 2 major fundraising events, when schools closed, SMS was able to move to virtual learning with our students only missing one day of school! This year, more than ever, we need to raise more money to cover the cost of school safety modifications and technology upgrades so we can continue to educate our students whether they are in the classroom or distant learning.

Admission is $40 per person (adults only) until November 16th and includes dinner, drinks, dessert, dancing, and your bid paddle.            Last year, the event had over 240 attendees and raised $90,200 for technology improvements, classroom materials, and teaching aids. We were also able to provide over $350,000 in scholarships for tuition assistance. The success of this auction is largely due to our generous business donors and parent volunteers!

           The Annual Holiday Auction & Gala attracts considerable attention from our school families, 900 plus families of the parish, and from the extended community as well.  St. Matthew’s School serves families from Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Suffolk, Portsmouth, and North Carolina. Our student body consists of over 525 children.
