32nd annual Chocolate & Wine Lovers' Gala Auction
Gala/Party for Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish CountyMar 08, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Our donors want to participate because they are committed personally to stopping domestic violence. Domestic violence effects all of us. One out of three women and one out of five men will experience domestic violence in their lifetime. And the ones that are hurt the most are our children. Our supporters want to attend so they can help to provide much needed funds to help keep all our programs and services free of charge.
We expect more than 575 guests to attend our event on Friday, March 8, 2024, at the Tulalip Resort. Some of our past guests have invluded Snohomish County Executive, local Senators and Legislators, Snohomish County Sheriff, various Police Chiefs and staff, various Mayors and staff, local business leaders and more. 100% of the proceeds go to our programs and services.
We have the only confidential 24 hour emergency shelter in Snohomish County for those in immediate danger, 24 hour support line, legal advocacy, childrens programs, Prevention & Education, Elder Abuse Advocacy, Housing Programs, Thrift Shoppe to provide new and gently used items for our clients, and more. Last fiscal year (July 2021-June 2022) we helped more than 17,000 individuals.
We encourage all people to reach out for help and we never ask for a paycheck stub or any other paperwork. We are a Trauma Informed Care Certified Agency.
I anticipate that one or more of your employees are either in a domestic violence situation right now or have been in the past. Perhaps they grew up with domestic violence in their household. Domestic violence is not just physical, but it is emotional and financial as well. Abusers threaten to kill your favorite pet, they take away food, they take away everything But we offer hope and help for those in need.
I can't even imagine what it would be like to sleep in my Surburban Vehicle with my two twin boys for a month, parked in the Safeway parking lot. Then to be found by my abusive husband and have my car and myself attacked with a baseball bat.
Thank goodness someone called the police and this family was brought to our shelter. They stayed for more than a month until we found them housing where they could restart their lives in safety. We provided, again at no charge, clothing, shoes, coats, new beds, blankets and quilts, kitchen supplies and food. We continue to provide support as needed.
A donation from you for our live auction wil be very popular and bring much needed funds to our agency. I appreciate your consideration of our request. Tax id 91-0982722. Reigstered 501(c)3.
