Description

I’d like to thank you for taking time to read this and for your interest in Southeast Dallas.  I’m not much on predicting the future but I can tell you our Southeast Dallas Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis Club of Pleasant Grove Foundation have been blessed by incredibly generous sponsors and donors for the first 30 years of the Southeast Dallas Community Golf Classic.  And, then, plus 1.  What I will predict is the tremendous need and mission field that exists in Southeast Dallas demands our attention and resources now more than ever.

We are so grateful to Dal-Tile, a division of Mohawk Industries, Inc, and their longtime leadership in Southeast Dallas and their sacrificial support this year.  With them, our battle cry, our united effort is to improve the quality of life for those that live, work, play, pray and go to school in Southeast Dallas.

I sincerely hope that you are navigating this pandemic and you, your family and those in your care are well.  If you have the ability, in any way, shape or form, to support our efforts this year, your donation will do immeasurable good. As you can imagine, we have longtime, generous sponsors that cannot participate this year.  Your generous gift allows us to continue supporting these wonderful organizations and programs doing amazing work in Southeast Dallas:

Jerry’s Dream Camp Kiwanis is a Kiwanis Club of Pleasant Grove effort celebrating 26 years of annually sending up to 80 disadvantaged children to summer camp at no cost to their families. Approximately 1,000 children have attended camp at Hidden Acres over the years.  A transformative experience for many!

Since 1998, the Southeast Dallas Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to deserving high school seniors from WW Samuell, H Grady Spruce, Skyline, A Plus Academy and Inspired Vision Academy high schools. 130 students and $140,000 in scholarships to date!  We lift up our own!

The Pleasant Grove Food Pantry, a North Texas Food Bank member organization, passionately pursues a hunger-free community in Pleasant Grove and surrounding areas.  A critical resource meeting the needs of many unemployed/underemployed neighbors!

Books for Ownership program helps achieve reading proficiency in 6 area Dallas ISD Elementary Schools with free book distributions and theme filled activities. Reading proficiency = better education now more than ever!
