Description

Hugs for Heroes is the annual fundraiser for The Harbour School.  As our primary fundraising effort,  we rely on the generosity of our local and larger community to support our goals through donations, sponsorship, and ticket sales.  The gala is also an opportunity to recognize how much we rely on that community!  The evening features live and silent auction items, a fund-a-need display, and a raise the paddle opportunity.

This year, with your support, we're raising money for AI headsets that will help students develop essential social and employment readiness skills, giving them the tools, they need to succeed today, and beyond. Your donation will also enhance our campuses: Baltimore will gain much-needed added classroom space to accommodate growing needs, while Annapolis will receive new carpeting to create a more welcoming and comfortable learning environment.

School is a community that offers opportunities for learning in and out of the classroom. For many of our students Harbour offers the first opportunity to truly participate in afterschool sports, performing arts and clubs.  We know that for some of our students these are the opportunities that lead to first friendships and social activities with people outside of the student’s family.  Our goals is to provide our students with the academic and social communication skills each needs to fully participate in the school community and the community at large.  Our unique program helps students with disability beat the odds and become successful adults. Education is about what happens at school that makes life for a person after school.
