Greeting from the Neal Taylor Nature Center at Cachuma Lake! On behalf of our board, staff, and volunteers, we thank you for considering our request for an in-kind donation to support our upcoming event. We are proud to be celebrating 35 years of serving our community and in honor of this milestone we are hosting our first ever Online Auction! Funds raised through this virtual event will help make it possible for the Nature Center to continue offering engaging educational programs to children and their families from Santa Barbara County and beyond. As well as assist in funding operations, exhibits, and our efforts to serve tens of thousands of visitors annually. The Nature Center is known to many as an “institution” and a place filled with memories made over decades of visits. Your support will help us continue this legacy for another 35+ years to come!

After a few unpredictable years, we are happy to report that the Nature Center is back to operating in full swing. With that being said, we do have some financial ground to make up and we’re getting creative! We are excited to be hosting our first ever Online Auction, a new and innovative approach that will be a creative and generous venue for our area-wide supporters. In-kind donations, from local businesses like yours, will allow us to create fun, themed auction packages that entice our donors to participate and bid to win! Your support will help make this fundraising event successful, moving us closer to raising the needed funds to operate the Nature Center and further our mission.

The core value of the Nature Center is to be a place of hands-on discovery that fosters a deeper cultural and environmental understanding of the Cachuma Lake area. Getting children and their families out into “their own backyard” to discover, understand and appreciate the beauty of Cachuma Lake and the Santa Ynez watershed are our priorities. Visiting schools, families and campers enjoy programs/exhibits such as Food for Thought, Creepy Creatures, Going “Batty”, Nature Center Detectives, Kids Fishing Workshops, Trout in the Classroom, and Saving Wildlife, and many other engaging and educational programs throughout the year.
