I am writing on behalf of the Delaware Institute for Excellence in Early Childhood (DIEEC) at the University of Delaware. DIECC improves the lives of young children and their families by providing services for the early childhood community, including professional development and quality improvement support.

On November 16th, 2024, DIEEC will hold the 3rd Annual First State Family Child Care Conference in Georgetown. This Conference will be the first of its kind devoted solely to FCC educators and the unique care that they provide to Delaware's children. It will be an opportunity for FCC educators to come together as a professional community to further their knowledge and. expertise.

Differing from center-based care, family child care (FCC) educators care for and educate young children in a home-based setting. Each FCC educator works tirelessly to provide care to children and families throughout the state of Delaware. Most FCC programs provide care in a mixed-age environment with children ranging in age from infancy to 12 years old. DIEEC is committed to providing support and resources for our FCC educators and their unique challenges and experiences.

We have included all relevant information in the attached document and hope you will consider supporting us this year.

Your sponsorship/donation would be tax deductible as DIEEC has 501 (c)(3) status, and we can provide those details. We appreciate any and all contributions! Thank you for taking the time to read our request. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Sincerely,

Erika Vidal
