Description

School supplies are an essential part of a child’s education. For many students and their families, the simple luxury of affording all of the items on their school supply list creates a huge financial burden. For the past two years, we have held school supply fundraisers in which the community comes together to support these children. The impact this has on the students, their parents and the school staff is truly incomparable. No child should ever have to worry about not being able to afford something as simple as school supplies and together, we have ensured that for hundreds of students the past two years.

My name is Natassa Bourkas and our nonprofit, Random Acts Colorado, is raising money to sponsor the students of as many low income elementary schools in the Denver metro area for school supplies for the 2019-2020 school year that we can. We base our school choice off of annual reports filed by the schools and what their percent of students that receive free or reduced lunch is.

In 2017, we were able to get every supply on all 317 student’s supply lists for Fletcher Elementary in Aurora, Colorado. In 2018, the community came together to get supplies for three low income schools in Aurora.  For 2019, we are planning on continuing to extend our reach of elementary schools served in the Denver metro area and we need your help! Every dollar truly helps us fund our mission and make a difference in the lives of these children and their families.

At the fundraising event, there will be a silent auction to help raise funds that will go directly towards buying school supplies for each elementary school for the 2019-2020 school year. I am humbly asking for your help, as sponsoring this amount of children truly is a community effort.

Many businesses are donating goods and services to help out and I am asking for you to join them in helping ensure a successful start to the school year for hundreds of students that truly need our help.

Each company that donates items are featured on a banner displaying the logo and name of your company which will be displayed at our fundraising event.  There will also be numerous public mentions on our website and social media pages. Donations are tax deductible and a receipt can be delivered if needed.
