3rd Annual Sensory Processing Disorder/Autism Awareness Benefit
Golf Tournament for Puzzle SolversJun 15, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
We are excited to be hosting the 3rd annual Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD)/ Autism Awareness benefit golf tournament on Saturday, June 15th 2019 and are hoping for your donation to help make this event a success. All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Sensory Integration/Motor Sensory (SIMS) Exploration center at SUNY Cortland. The SIMS Lab was developed by an internationally recognized expert in adaptive physical education and is a vital part of the Cortland community.
Created in 2014, the Lab provides multidisciplinary service, training, and research opportunities that address the needs of children with Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) and Autism. SPD is a condition in which the brain misinterprets basic sensory information such as sound, touch, and movement creating what is sometimes referred to as a “neurological traffic jam”. Specialized equipment and activities help children better interpret a wide variety of sensory signals in a colorful playground-like setting.
Your support today will help children challenged with Sensory Processing Disorder get the help they need. Please take a moment to watch our YouTube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKtkT5RMf1Q
