Description

HEAR Center was founded in 1954 by Ciwa Griffiths, Ed. D. As a dedicated teacher of the deaf, she developed the Auditory Approach: helping hearing-impaired children gain the gift of speech through early identification of hearing loss, amplification with hearing aids and training in learning to listen and speak.

Today as the only non-profit 501(c)3 clinic of its kind in the San Gabriel Valley, HEAR Center provides state-of-the-art speech and hearing services for anyone who needs it, regardless of the ability to pay. From sliding scale rates, to free community programs, we are there for those who need us most.

About The Tournament:

The HEAR Center Annual Golf Tournament has been the mainstay of HEAR Center’s fundraising efforts for 42 years and has raised over $1,000,000 over the years.

The annual tournament was founded in 1980 by concrete industry professionals Ruben Aman, Mal Gatherer and Bill Donald (whose granddaughter had hearing loss and was a “HEAR Angel”).The tournament has since grown to include the Who’s Who of the Southern California
