Description

Thank you for your many years of supporting Kara. Founded in 1976, Kara provides grief counseling and support to over 6,000 children, adults, and organizations annually. This spring, Kara will host a special 45th Anniversary Sapphire Celebration on April 30th as a fundraising event to support unprecedented pandemic-related growth in demand for our grief services and programs in this current fiscal year.

We would like to invite you to consider donating a gift certificate for admission for two to California's Great America to help raise funds for Kara's Childrens, Adults, and Families bereavement support programs. We expect 300 people to attend our event, which will include a reception, dinner, raffle prizes, a live auction, and a fund-a-need auction, held at the Oshman Family Jewish Community Center in Palo Alto. Our keynote speaker will be Dr. Lucy Kalanithi, Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Stanford University and the widow of neurosurgeon Dr. Paul Kalanithi, author of the #1 New York Times bestselling memoir When Breath Becomes Air.

All donors will receive promotion at our gala and in event written media, as well as on Kara's website and social media pages. For your convenience, please find our Donation Form attached to this message.

We greatly appreciate your support of Kara and its mission to offer compassion, hope, and healing to bereaved children and adults all across the Bay Area.

With sincere gratitude and best regards,

Kathy Merkle-Raymond, Kara Director of Development
