45th Annual Hungarian Scout Ball
Gala/Party for Hungarian Boy Scout Association In Exile Inc/ Hungarian Scout Troops San FranciscoFeb 03, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 11:30 PM
December 14, 2017
Dear Friends of the Hungarian Scouts of the Bay Area:
The Hungarian Girl Scout Troop 43. and Boy Scout Troop 77. are the Bay Area’s most important Hungarian youth educational programs. This year we had the pleasure to invite our Sponsors to our 45th annual Hungarian Scouts’ Ball. Our Scouts’ Ball will take place on February 3, 2018 at the elegant Green Hills Country Club.
With your assistance we will be able to sell raffle tickets and have a silent auction and make this a successful event!
The whole rafflet ticket sale and silent auction will benefit the Scouts, as well as the children’s school program.
Please consider a donation of a gift certificate or merchandise. The donation deadline for program inclusion is February 1, 2018. The event’s program will publicize your business to more than 160 attendees, as well as all the scout and school families who can patronize your business.
- We have 100 scouts in our two Scout Troops and our school has 7 classes where the children learn the Hungarian language, literature, history and geography.
- The Hungarian Scouting program was founded in Hungary in 1910, and was established in the United States in 1950s. The Hungarian Scouting Association in the San Francisco Bay area was founded in 1969. The troops hold their meetings and activities at the Woodside Priory, founded by Hungarians 60 years ago.
- The scouting program is closely affiliated with Hungarian classes held on the weekends. The Association maintains an excellent leader-training program for patrol leaders, assistant scoutmasters and scoutmasters for girl guides, boy scouts and cub scouts. In the fall of 2017 14 young patrol leaders attended a 2-day long leadership training camp to meet the challenges of managing their patrols.
- Next year’s biggest project is to build a new storage. We store our camping gears and educational materials in a very old shed and it is not big enough to store our growing troops’ equipment.
Your donations are tax deductible as the Hungarian Scouts and School is a designated 501(c) (3) non-profit organization.
Thank you for your consideration in supporting Hungarian Scout Troops. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or visit our website at: http://sfcserkesz.org/hu/.
Sincerely Yours,
