Description

Soroptimist International of Greater St. Louis (SI Greater St. Louis) is once again hosting our 80’s Blacklight Bingo fundraiser on February 17, 2024.

SI Greater St. Louis, chartered in 1973, is part of Soroptimist International of the Americas, Inc®. Headquartered in Philadelphia, Soroptimist provides women and girls with access to education and training through the work of volunteers in countries and territories throughout North America, South America and the Pacific Rim. Its Dream Programs ensure women and girls have access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. The Live Your Dream: Education and Training Awards for Women® provide cash grants for head-of-household women seeking to improve their earning potential. Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls® provides girls with tangible strategies to accomplish their future career goals. A 501(c)(3) organization that relies on charitable donations to support its programs, Soroptimist also powers LiveYourDream.org®—an online community that offers volunteer opportunities in support of women and girls.

Our Vision
Women and girls have the resources and opportunities to reach their full potential and live their dreams.

Our Mission
A global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment.

Our Core Values

  • Education: Women and girls deserve to lead full and productive lives through access to education.
  • Empowerment: Women and girls are free to act in their own best interest.
  • Diversity & Fellowship: Women from varied backgrounds and perspectives work together to improve the lives of women and girls.
  • Gender Equality: Women and girls live free from discrimination.

Proceeds from 80’s Blacklight Bingo go towards funding the Live Your Dream: Education and Training Awards for Women® award, as well as our local scholarship program. Since our inception in 1973, the scholarships and grants we have distributed exceed $650,000 over the past 50 years.

With support from friends like you, we have raised almost $24,000 over the last three years from our Blacklight Bingo! For the first time, we hosted a period supply drive in connection with our 2023 event, collecting over 10,000 personal care items that were donated to the St. Louis Alliance for Period Supplies!

However, we need your help to continue to pursue our mission. That’s why we’d like you to consider a sponsorship or donation for our 2024 80’s Blacklight Bingo fundraiser. We have various levels of sponsorships available, all of which include your logo featured on our promotional materials, social media, and announced during the event. We are also looking for in-kind items for raffle, door prizes, silent auction, as well as items for consumption during our event (e.g. beer, wine, soda, bottled water).

New this year, we are offering attendees the option of reserving a table of ten in advance. These tables are limited, so book early! We’d love to see your organization come together for a fun night of bingo! Tickets will go on sale January 1, 2024 and can be purchased using the QR code on the enclosed flyer.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at SoroptimistStLouis@gmail.com. Thank you for your continued support!
