Explore the longest siege in US Military history. Port Hudson, an unsung hero of the C.S.A. Port Hudson was out-supplied, out-gunned, out-manned, 4 to 1 by Union forces and held out for 48 days. Why was it so important to capture Port Hudson at all cost?
SYMPOSIUM WEEKEND
Friday Night Reception 6:30 PM to 8;30 PM: Reception at the Marston House, Hor d’oeuvres, and a Self-Guided Driving Tour
Saturday Symposium 8 AM to 5 PM: Breakfast snack, 4 Speaker sessions, Lunch, Afternoon Snack, Beverages, Book Raffle, Grand Raffle.
Sunday 9AM – 1 PM: Starting with a speaker presentation then a private walking/driving tour to the Priest Cap, site of the heaviest fighting during the siege (weather permitting).
A portion of the symposium proceeds benefit the Friends Of Port Hudson. The symposium is dedicated to the memory of our good friend Peter Harrington.
