We cordially invite you to participate as a sponsor of the It Starts with Me 2 5K Stroller Roll. It Starts with Me 2 is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring and engaging youth and parents to make better lifestyle choices and become active through the sport of walking and running. The 5K Stroller Roll is a race for runners and walkers wishing to participate while pushing a baby jogger or baby stroller. Expecting mothers, supporting dads, grandmothers, and grandfathers are all invited to participate in the race. Parents essentially act as gatekeepers to the physical activity that their children choose to undertake, and therefore play an important role in increasing the physical activity levels of their child.

For example, parents have the immediate ability to influence their child’s exercise levels by simply choosing to be active with their child, choosing to role model positive exercise behavior, and of course, by facilitating physical activity for their child in more of a support role. Within this, there is also a strong correlation between the activity levels of parents and the activity levels of their children. Parents who exercise more frequently also having children who tend to exercise more frequently. This suggests that by simply participating in an exercise, a parent has the capacity to increase the activity levels of their children.

This event will raise money to provide scholarships to children whose families need just a little bit of financial assistance for things such as cheer camps, soccer uniforms, basketball camp and others. Parents will apply for the scholarship on behalf of their child. The event will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, Georgia. The 5K will kick off at 8:00 a.m. Awards will be given for top qualifiers as well as best costume. Each participant will receive a finisher medal and a t-shirt.

Your sponsorship will help by encouraging people to get out in the community and be active, promote your brand/organization (details below), and a great opportunity to give to the great cause of a local non-profit. Your sponsorship helps to defray the cost of organizing the event. Funds received from sponsorships will be used to purchase t-shirts for registered race participants, awards and complimentary drinks and snacks for each race participant. Therefore, all profits from the event can go directly to children’s and families in need. This is an exciting opportunity that we hope you will want to support!
