“Healing the Voice Within” is The Gatehouse Annual Art Exhibit and silent auction raising awareness and funds to support The Gatehouse, a community-based charitable organization that provides much-needed support, resources, and community to survivors of childhood sexual abuse.

The Gatehouse annual Healing the Voice Within Exhibit is an extension of its mission to provide a safe place where everyone has a voice and finds healing and empowerment by putting into pictures and words the trauma, struggle, and challenges that are indescribable to many survivors.

Partnerships are welcomed to support the fundraising event and lend support to those healing from sexual violence.

The Gatehouse - Purpose

Since 1998, the Gatehouse has been a safe comfortable space for survivors of childhood sexual abuse to feel heard, supported, and believed. The Gatehouse offers peer-led programs including support group programs and art therapy for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse in partnership with Full Circle Art Therapy Centre. The Gatehouse is also an inviting, comfortable space with a fully equipped interview room for police and child welfare agencies to interview children and their families in alleged child abuse cases. 

1 in 3 girls and 1 in 5 boys will be sexually assaulted at some time in their lives.
