Watch the zoo come to life like never before at the 5th Annual Kids Zoo Ball on Friday, March 3, 2023. Join us for a magical and glamorous evening for parents and their children. This kid-friendly gala promises to be filled with great fun, animals, activities, dinner, and a dance party. Once Upon a Tail, Kids Zoo Ball gives children the opportunity to embark on their philanthropic journey and support the zoo and its world-class animal care, education programs for all ages, and conservation initiatives locally and around the world. Each year, as part of Kids Zoo Ball, children ages 3-17 participate in the Jungle Contest to raise funds to benefit San Antonio Zoo’s mission and support our $25 million operating budget. Participants compete to raise the most funds and earn the right to be one of eight members of the Royal Court, including the chance to be named the zoo’s King and Queen of the Jungle. San Antonio Zoo depends 100% on donations and visitor spending to operate. Kids Zoo Ball is one of the main fundraising events supporting the zoo’s operating budget.
