Description
Local runners compete in the Ephrata Recreation Center's Memorial Day 5K. Proceeds from the event benefit our youth programs, including our Grater Scholarship Program, which gives area youth a free Rec Center membership as long as they qualify for free or reduced school lunch. This program gives hundreds of local children access to our fitness facility, gymnasium, pool and more and helps promote Ephrata Rec's mission statement: "To improve the quality of life by providing wholesome, affordable recreation opportunities to the citizens of the Ephrata area."
The Memorial Day 5K, in its fifth year, draws runners from all over Lancaster and Berks counties.
