Description

Sister-Bear Foundation, an Amarillo, Texas 501c3 organization whose mission is to provide access to adaptive fitness and wellness resources for mobility-impaired adults in the Texas Panhandle, will hold their 5th Annual Sister-Bear Shoot on Saturday, September 23rd at River Breaks Ranch.

The festivities will start at 1:00 pm with a Sporting Clay Shoot. All shooters from beginners to experts are invited to participate and compete for the coveted Sister-Bear Shoot belt buckles while supporting a worthy cause. The fee for individual shooters is $300, and a team of four shooters is $1200. Shooters may also purchase mulligans to help improve their shooting score, Sister-Bear logoed merchandise, and raffle tickets before the Shoot at sister-bear.com or during Shoot check-in.

The public is invited to join shooters and their guests at 5:00 pm for the fun after-party, which includes a happy hour with open bar, fajita dinner, and live entertainment. Partygoers can also enjoy River Breaks Ranch’s famous horseraces for a chance at great prizes, including Beer for a Year donated by Budweiser of Amarillo. The live auction will only be available to party attendees. Party tickets are available for $75 each by Friday, September 23rd.

The Sister-Bear Shoot auction has gone mobile again this year and anyone can participate in the chance to win some fabulous auction items at the party or from their home via GiveSmart! The silent auction can be accessed from our website at sister-bear.com. Auction bidders will find something for everyone from jewelry and gift baskets to power tools, as well as collectibles and experiences, and much more.

Sister-Bear Foundation was founded by Julie Granger whose daughter Kathryn was severely injured in an auto accident in 2018 that left her paralyzed from the chest down. The Grangers’ story is a familiar one to many adults in Amarillo and the surrounding area who have suffered strokes, spinal cord and brain injuries, and other neurological injuries or illnesses, but who have limited access to fitness and wellness resources. Proceeds from the Sister-Bear Shoot help fund grants to deserving mobility-impaired adults in the Amarillo Region who need resources not covered by insurance to help improve their health, functionality, and quality of life. The nonprofit organization also collaborates with other health organizations to bring much-needed rehabilitative equipment to Amarillo.
