During the week of April 21st to April 28th, we are launching our 6th Annual Little Black Dress Initiative (LBDI) to raise awareness around the limits of poverty and hunger and the impact on women and children in the Capital Region. As a part of this effort, myself and other Junior League members will wear one black outfit for the week. In doing so, we hope to help highlight the crippling (and often invisible) effects limited resources can have on quality of life. Junior League members will raise both awareness and funds to help combat food insecurity with our community partners through online efforts on social media. Alongside our fundraising efforts online, we will be hosting events throughout the week at local businesses in the Albany area including a kick off happy hour and basket raffle at The Albany Distilling Co., exercise classes at the Hot Yoga Spot & Pure Barre, a dining out event at City Line, and a week-long online auction!

To help us make this event a success, we are looking for donations to raffle or auction off. We realize that these are difficult times, but any contribution that you are able to provide would be incredibly appreciated. We would be happy to recognize you in email marketing and social media posts.  Because we are a 501(c)(3), tax-exempt corporation, your donation will be tax-deductible to the extent permissible under the law, and we will be happy to send you a letter documenting the value of your donation for your records.
