The Humane Society of Hobart (HSH) is celebrating our 70th year of lifesaving!  We are having a 150 seat, 1970s themed celebration in our hometown to celebrate this amazing milestone.  The event will include a full meal, drinks, dessert, silent auction items, raffle baskets, dancing with 70s music provided by a live DJ, and VIP options such as a bourbon & wine tasting, fondue bar, swag bags, priority seating, and 1 hour of puppy cuddling!

Most of our annual budget of is raised by generous donations from our community. Our fundraising and development plan consist of various fundraising activities such as grant and foundation submissions, special events, online, social media, and direct appeal campaigns, and donor development initiatives.  Our community, and 58K Facebook followers know we put on AMAZING events that are often sold out.  We expect this one to sell out as well and be THE event of the year in our area.  We partner with businesses and work hard to drive our followers towards those businesses (see our "Friends Furever" page on our website).

A little bit about our history and what we've built and will celebrate:

HSH is a nonprofit animal shelter on a mission to build and strengthen pet families and provides shelter for more than 2,800 pets annually, receives more stray pets than any other agency in Lake County, IN, helps thousands of pet families each year with pet resources and supplies, and is alongside law enforcement to provide animal field services in times of crisis. We are a vital anchor in this community.

HSH sponsors the Northwest Indiana Coalition of Animal Welfare Professionals to engage with leaders in the community to solve the public problem of pet homelessness.
WE ARE committed to the pets in OUR communities. WE ARE committed to advocating for pets and pet families, locally in Northwest Indiana!  WE ARE committed to solving, not sustaining, the public problem of pet homelessness.
