Dear Friends,
For the last 43 years the Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless has been serving Union
County families. We have helped thousands of homeless and housing insecure individuals and
families with housing assistance.
This past year we have seen record numbers for requests for service. In spite of the efforts from
the federal government to alleviate some of the issues caused by the pandemic many families
are still ineligible for this assistance and are facing the growing shortage of affordable housing.
With your donations we:
• Responded to 2,400 requests for assistance (online and in person)
• Provided 3,715 nights of shelter in hotels to individual and families
• Provided 1,080 nights of shelter in our transitional housing program (HospitalityHouse)
• Provided 348 months of rental assistance
• Provided over 80,018 hours of case management to our clients
Since 1981, the Coalition has provided a safety net to more than 3,300 individuals each year.
Now more than ever our community needs help. As we continue to support our families,
rebuild lives, prevent homelessness and build a bridge to stronger, more stable families and
communities throughout our County.
Join us on May 22, 2024 as we gather for our annual Gala at The Westwood in Garwood from
6pm to 9pm. Our formal Gala evening features cocktails & hors d’oeuvres, a supper buffet, a
silent auction and live music.
Your generous Gala sponsorships will provide emergency shelter, transitional supportive
housing, and comprehensive services that help families work toward self-sufficiency. Or, please
