The 7th Annual Ladies Tennis and Paddle Classic and Luncheon will take place on Thursday September 20th from 9am until 3pm.  This event sells out with 300 local women with a heart for a cause.  ALL of the proceeds will directly benefit the Y's Special Needs Programming.  Dollars raised from the 2017 event enabled us to 1. Further formalize our 21+ program to be a Medicare approved day habilitation program for individuals with special needs.  The program's focus is to promote wellness through nutrition and exercise; to build independence through instruction of self-help and life skills; and to develop friendship through the enhancement of social skills. 2. Offer our participants field trips to the US Open, Liberty Science center, Museum of Natural History, The Christmans Spectacular at Radio City, and the New York Post.  Your support also allowed them to take a dinner cruise on the Hudson and enjoy a formal dance.  These field trips give our participants educational experiences away from their regular school environment and allow them to learn in a more hand-on and interactive manner. 3. Continue the daily bus transport of participants to the Y to participate in swim lessons, Personal Partners, (one-on-one fitness), tennis, work projects and so much more.  4. Allow the Y to provide 10 shadows for children who otherwise would not be able to have the Camp Wydaca experience. 
These shadows enable these campers the opportunity to thrive all summer long.  Your support is critical to our program.  Teh funds raised on the courts greatly enhances the quality of life for our 21+, Shining Star and the Shadow Program.  Thank you for making the difference!
