Description

Each year we come together with our friends, neighbors and community partners for an evening filled with live music, amazing food and a chance to bid on the most beautiful Christmas trees you have ever seen.  We will also have a silent auction with a range of items from home décor to wedding planning, and everything in between.

For the last 58 years, with the help and support of our communities, PCS has fought The War on Poverty by offering programs and services designed to target specific issues that low-income households face every day.  While the majority of our funding comes from state and federal grants, those grants have strict guidelines on how the funding may be spent. Grant funds cannot be used for things like car repairs or an expensive, required textbook.  Either one of these could be enough of an obstacle to put an end to a client's dream of being the first person in their family to graduate college. Lack of child care for even a day can prevent a single-mother from going to work which leads to her paycheck being short, which quickly snowballs into a missed car or rent payment. There is an endless list of obstacles that grant funding will not cover.

Our programs take both long- and short-term approaches to help our clients transition out of poverty.  The money we raise through the Festival of Trees and silent auction go directly to our Family Services and provides the flexibility needed to eliminate obstacles for families transitioning from poverty to self-sufficiency.
