9/11 Memorial Ride
Walk/Run for Forest Hills Volunteer Ambulance CorpsSep 16, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
On September 11, 2001, our organization lost one of its own members at the World Trade Center. Richard Allen Pearlman was only 18 years old and was the youngest First Responder to perish at this site on that day. Richard sacrificed his own life, saving others. It is a sad day that none of us will ever forget.
We all made a promise that day; “We Will Never Forget”. To honor this promise, our organization holds the Annual “Run for Richie” 9/11 Memorial Motorcycle Ride through New York City. This world renowned ride begins at the Flushing Meadow Park in Queens, New York and parades through New York City, passing the Freedom Towers, riding along the famous 42nd Street in Times Square, over the Ed Koch 59th Street Bridge, and back to the Aqueduct Racetrack. This is the largest 9/11 Memorial motorcycle ride in the country.
On Saturday, September 16th 2020, we will host our 5th Annual Ride, commemorating the Anniversary of the Attack on the World Trade Center. We anticipate having an attendance of more than 3,000 people who will participate and who will help us keep that promise we made in 2001.
The Forest Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps is a 501c3 nonprofit charity, whose mission is to provide emergency and non-emergency medical care to persons in need, without charge to them. The funds raised through this event will help to further our cause in the community. All direct financial contributions are 100% tax deductible.
