Description

Join Us for a Community Celebration that Helps Bay Area Brain Injury, Concussion, and Stroke Survivos Thrive!

Schurig Center looks forward to celebrating its 35th anniversary with 250 guests from throughout the Bay Area at the Osher Marin JCC in San Rafael, CA. The elegant evening’s festivities will include live music, premium, wine tastings, appetizers, buffet-style dinner, an inspiring live program, auctions, lots of community connection, and more! Plus, the best part... While guests are having fun, they’ll be helping to improve lives and abilities. BAM Gala benefits The Karen G. Schurig Scholarship Fund, providing access to care for the 70% of our center's clients who live on a low income.

No one deserves to go through brain injury alone. YOU can help ensure nobody does.

As a Gala Donor, YOU play a vital role in providing the only non-profit in our area that helps people not only survive, but thrive after a brain injury. Your generosity powers an array of life-enhancing rehabilitative and supportive services designed specifically for brain injury survivors and that are not available anywhere else in our area. We turn no one away based on ability to pay thanks to the scholarship funds raised at BAM Gala.

About Schurig Center... Celebrating 35 years of service!

Since 1985, Schurig Center continues to be the only non-profit in our area picking up where the healthcare system leaves off to help brain injury survivors and their families not only survive, but thrive.

Woody Allen said, “If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.” In the U.S., every 15 seconds someone’s life and plans are changed by a brain injury, like a concussion or stroke.  When a person goes through a brain injury, it’s life-changing and it can affect everyone in their life. It’s like hitting a ‘pause’ button on life. Health insurance and finances only go so far, and often not far enough. That’s where Schurig Center picks up. We help press ‘play’ again. We provide a safe, compassionate place where survivors can learn to adapt to life changes, regain essential skills, and build new lives of value and purpose. Schurig Center is also a founding member of ConcussionSmart Marin, a coalition collaborating to develop standardized protocols and education to help Marin County’s high school staff, parents, and doctors provide the best possible care for students and athletes who have a concussion.
