Description

The Event: The 9th Annual Fast & Furriest 5K / 1M Fun Run will tentatively be held in Walkersville, MD, on Sunday, April 28th Heritage Farm Park, Walkersville, MD. We are hopeful, with your support, we can exceed last year’s proceeds which were over $23,400 !

Our Need:  We are seeking donated items and/or gift cards to help us make this critical fundraising event a success.  The event is one of our largest fundraisers designed to raise funds for the rescued dogs’ medical care.  Medical costs exceeded $126,000 in 2023.

Who we are:  Operations Paws for Homes (OPH) is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to saving lives of dogs of all breeds from high kill shelters.  Since 2010, OPH has operated in Maryland, DC, Virginia and southern Pennsylvania consisting of a network of volunteers and foster homes. We do not have a facility nor do we receive funding from local, state or federal sources.  Our partner shelters have little to no funding or financial help from their local communities....so our help is critical in their efforts to save lives.  Without rescue, innocent animals are led to the ‘back door’.  We encourage adopters to round up their adoption fees to help us provide that service to unaltered animals free of charge.

We are dedicated to saving lives….we hope you will join us.  Shelters continue to be overpopulated which, without rescue, leads to increases in euthanasia.  Innocent animals are losing their lives through no fault of their own.  Shelters are being forced to make very difficult decisions.   We hope you can consider helping us help those who cannot help themselves.  Please don’t hesitate to contact us with questions.  Thank you in advance for taking the time to review the information.  We look forward to hearing from you soon.
