9th Annual Starry Night CAMP Gala
Gala/Party for Children's Association for Maximum PotentialSep 09, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM
The Starry Night CAMP Gala is CAMP's largest annual fundraising event. The gala, consising of a seated dinner, silent and live auction, is dedicated to raising much needed funds to provide financial assistance for campers who otherwise would be unable to attend CAMP. With a policy of never turning a child away due to the family’s inability to pay the camping fees, our shortfall between what the families pay and the actual cost of CAMP is $400,000. Funds raised through the Gala will help bridge that gap.
Children’s Association for Maximum Potential (CAMP) is a residential summer camp for individuals with special needs, no camper is ever turned away due to the severity of their disability, or their inability to pay the full cost of a week at CAMP. Campers range in age from 5 to 50, and do everything “typical” campers do, swim, canoe, ride horses, play archery, and much more! Each activity is modified to their individual needs. With a 1:1 camper to counselor ratio, and a full team of medical volunteers, our campers are assured a fun, medically safe, camping experience in the Texas Hill Country, while their family members and caregivers receive much needed respite from caring for a child with special needs 24/7. For many, this is the only break they receive all year!
