A Midsummer Night's Gala
Gala/Party for The Rock School for Dance EducationMay 14, 2025 from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM
Join us for a celebration as merry as the day is long! This year's gala will be located at the picturesque Fairmount Water Works and take place on May 14, 2025. The gala will feature a cocktail reception starting at 5:30, dinner at 7:00, live and silent auctions throughout the night, and the 17th Rock School/Curtis Institute of Music Collaboration, a partnership performance choreographed by Boston Ballet Principal Dancer and Assistant Artistic Director of Cirio Collective, Lia Cirio. The new work will be set to an original score by Curtis Institute Scholar, Amane Sakaguchi. The performance will be followed by speeches and an honor bestowed upon Rock School alumna Madeleine Gardella.
All sponsorships and proceeds from item donations go towards supporting The Rock School's scholarship fund as well as our community engagement program RockReach. The school aims to give out over 1.2 million dollars worth of student scholarships to ensure access to the world's most talented dancers, no matter their background. Our community engagement program RockReach provides 32 or more weeks of structured dance and music programs to students in 12 Philadelphia Title 1 public and charter schools with few or no arts education offerings. Thanks to proceeds from previous galas, we have been able to expand this program with a sister project known as The Engagement Program, where we provide after-school programming similar to that of RockReach along with meals, snacks, and supervised homework time for schools most in need in order to nurture the mind, body, and soul.
