Description

On April 28th, 2018 HVL will host its annual fundraising dinner auction. This auction consists of
a elegant dinner, silent and live auction, and entertainment. Auction attendees are HVL parents,
alumni, business supporters and honored guests. The monies raised are used to provide the funds
necessary to support a variety of vital needs, including academic programs and campus needs, as
well as funds for those families needing assistance with tuition.
The purpose of this letter is to ask you to consider supporting our endeavor through a donation
of goods, services, experience, gift certificates or product that we can use in our live or silent
auction. Donating a product, service, hotel/overnight stay, tickets, team memorabilia or a gift
certificate helps to support our educational mission. If you are able to support our event, please
be sure to include any marketing collateral, brochures, and relevant details about the item or your
business, so that we can provide an accurate description for potential bidders. Your name will
also be listed with the item on display for hundreds of people to see, along with being published
in our auction booklet in paper and online.
Huron Valley Lutheran High School is a 501 (C) 3 entity and all donations are tax deductible at
the declared value, Tax ID# 23-725-2371. Information about our school, the dinner auction and
other forms can be found on our website www.hvlhs.org. Your support will directly help our
students and enrich the educational mission of our school

What is the purpose of the Auction?
It is a major fundraiser as well as a fun-filled evening celebrating the mission of
our high school. The auction provides the funds necessary to support a variety of
vital needs, including academic programs and campus needs, as well as funds for
those families needing assistance with tuition.
Where do the auction items come from?
The raffle and auction items come from donations made & acquired by HVL
families, alumni and the auction committee. We are asking that each school
family consider making a personal donation of an item/gift card or certificate to
be used in the auction or raffle AND/OR solicit a donation of goods or services
from a business/corporation/team. Need ideas for items, check out our wish list!
How can I make a donation?
Anyone can purchase an item for donation and/or request a donation from a
restaurant, merchant, store, hotel, etc. Most auction item requests are honored
when accompanied by paperwork that identifies the mission of the event and the
tax ID information. This form is attached and can be used to secure donated
items. If every family makes one donation and/or one request at minimum, it will
help our efforts significantly. If you choose to purchase your donated item, it can
be considered as a tax donation.
How can I advertise my business?
As an advertiser, your ad will be seen by many loyal HVL alumni, parents,
faculty, staff and friends. There are numerous opportunities to advertise and/or
sponsor that will fit every marketing budget. Please follow up with Kris Ruth at
kruth@hvlhs.org if you would like to place an ad or sponsor part of the event.
How can I get involved?
This event takes a village of volunteers to bring it to fruition.
There are many volunteer opportunities and many ways to help! We need
help with administrative tasks, data entry, gift basket assembly
& decorating, auction set up, registration, event
day set-up and event close-out. If you would like to help
