You can support students in Osseo Area Schools by contributing to District 279 Foundation’s A Night Out event auction. A Night Out will be held on February 7, 2025, at Edinburgh USA Golf Course in Brooklyn Park. The evening will feature a social hour, games, auction, dinner and program.  

Please consider supporting students in our schools through a donation for our event auction. With your support, students will engage in experiential learning opportunities. For example, eighth-grade students from Brooklyn Middle STEAM School worked alongside artist Frank Sentwali from COMPAS to write and present an original spoken word poem about a real-world issue. Students incorporated rhythm, rhyme and literary techniques to express an aspect of their identity. They combined performance techniques with vocabulary, language, structure and features of spoken language to establish personal voice, style and tone. Their teacher expressed that the maturity of the students when completing this activity was surprising and impressive. During performances, some students got emotional when sharing about their cultural expectations and how heavy they can be to carry.
