National 2nd Chance Month 2021 Celebration - A Fair Opportunity at a 2nd Chance
Other Event Type for Safer FoundationApr 30, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Second Chance Month, observed in the United States during April since 2017, is a nationwide effort to raise awareness of the collateral consequences of an arrest or conviction record, and unlock second-chance opportunities for people who have completed their sentences to become contributing citizens. This directly aligns with our mission and our focus on providing workforce development and other supportive services in addition to barrier mitigation and policy/advocacy work so that individuals with arrest and conviction records are provided with a fair opportunity to improve their circumstances and to create positive change for themselves, their family and their community.
One in three American adults have an arrest or conviction record, which limits their access to education, jobs, housing, and other things they need to help them successfully reenter society and reach their full potential. Join us as we celebrate "Second Chance Month" in April, to raise the awareness and support needed to help 70 million Americans with records unlock roads to better futures through holistic support services.
