Description

On the evening of March 3rd, 2018 The Woman’s Board of Hadley Institute for the Blind and Visually Impaired will be hosting its annual fundraising gala.

The evening is themed “A Spark in the Dark” to highlight how Hadley brings education and opportunity to those with vision loss around the world. It will be held at Michigan Shores Club in Wilmette, IL, and will include cocktails, dinner, a fundraising program, and entertainment. We anticipate 200+ guests in attendance.

We have a tremendous program planned. Julie Tye, Hadley’s incredible new President, will inspire us with her vision for the organization. Following this, we will hear from John Hope Singleton, a blind Hadley student who will share his truly amazing story and play music for us. We also have a Chicago TV personality who will be serving as the event emcee. This will be a wonderful and memorable evening for our guests.

In the past, our annual benefit has raised between $100,000 to $200,000.  And, because Hadley’s endowment covers the organization’s operating costs, every dollar raised goes directly to educate blind and visually impaired learners across the U.S. and around the world.

A significant share of our event proceeds is raised through a live and silent auction. We are currently in the process of pulling together some unique items, experiences and travel packages that will generate excitement among our attendees.

Donors will receive recognition before, during, and after the event, including:

  • Advertisement in the program book
  • Prominent signage and inclusion in audio visual presentation at the event
  • Inclusion in benefit invite (time permitting)
  • Inclusion in press releases before and after the event to be sent to local, Chicago-area publications
  • We also welcome other opportunities to make our attendees and board aware of your generosity.

We believe that our benefit attendees are an excellent, and receptive audience. Most reside on the affluent North Shore of Chicago and have the disposable income to spend on travel, experiences and luxury items.

Hadley is an incredible organization, so we hope you will support this event. Thank you very much for your consideration!
