Description

Mountain Crisis Services is hosting its annual fundraiser on September 18, 2021 at 6 pm. Due to Covid-19, we are planning a virtual fundraiser to keep the community safe and healthy. Our theme is “A Whole New World 2021.” The evening will feature guest speakers sharing the struggles they faced during the pandemic. We will also be conducting a silent auction, which will include many exciting and desirable items that are donated.

This year, all funds raised during this event will go back to families in our emergency and transitional Safe Homes. On average, it costs MCS $170.44 per person per day to stay in the safe homes. For staff to provide support and case management for one survivor, the cost is $108.20 per night. For housing costs per night (includes rent, communications, utilities, supplies, transportation, etc.) it costs $62.24 per person. Last year, we provided 1,544 bed nights in our emergency and transitional safe homes for 47 survivors and their families.

With your donation for our silent auction, we will be able to contribute all funds toward helping individuals and their families seeking emergency shelter from persons that harm. Funds from fundraiser will go toward supporting survivors with gift cards for food, hygiene products and gas, cover electricity costs, and certain aspect of staff support. These are all categories of need that our grants don’t fully cover.
