Description

To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing on behalf of Acorn School, a 501©3 non-profit private preschool and kindergarten in Stratham, New Hampshire.  Acorn School is hosting its third annual Plant Sale and Raffle on May 7, 2022 at Barker’s Farm, Stratham NH, where all proceeds will fund the Rebecca Shepard Scholarship. Last year’s plant sale was incredibly successful and we are seeking community participation to make this year’s event even better.

Since 1972 Acorn School has provided young children with enriching opportunities to grow and learn together, both in the classroom and outdoors. The school is a nurturing and exciting place for children to explore, participate and make discoveries.

The Rebecca Shepard Scholarship was established in the late 80’s to honor and recognize the founder of Acorn School. Becky Shepard started the school in 1972 in memory of her grandmother, Jeanie Richardson Kerns, and in honor of childhood – that fleeting but critical period in life where you must encourage children to build confidence in themselves and let their imaginations soar.

She continues to share her musical talent with the Acorn students throughout the year. She encourages singing, movement and creative dramatics through playing the piano, banjo, auto harp and rhythm instruments.

The scholarship monies are awarded to families that would otherwise find this early educational program impossible without some financial assistance.

This year’s event will include beautifully themed raffle baskets, as well as all varieties of plants and flowers. In order to make this event successful, we are seeking donations.  I would like to ask if your company would make a donation for one of Acorn's high value raffle baskets.

Your support in making this event a success will be recognized by the Seacoast community, as well as current families, staff and alumni who remain involved in and committed to the school.

Thank you for your consideration.
