Description

Amanda Geissler Memorial Foundation is a non-profit organization with a mission to provide
educational opportunities for women and children. Amanda's love for education and specifically with a
focus on women and children started with her first volunteer trip to Ghana, Africa and then a longer six
month trip to Peru. These experiences filled Amanda with a passion and desire to continue traveling,
but also to help others and be immersed in their culture. Amanda was killed in a plane crash in Costa
Rica in December of 2017. Amanda was raised in Thorp, Wisconsin where she was an avid athlete and
participant in many leadership roles on and off the court. She continued her athletic career at the
Univeristy of Wisconsin - Stout helping lead the women's baketball team to numerous conference
championships and NCAA appearances. Her incredible zest for life and wisdom beyond her years led
her to create a bucket list. On her bucket list was #25: Start a new charity. Because of Amanda, we are
here and we are working to honor her love and passion for others.

Amanda Geissler Memorial Foundation is seeking donations and/or raffle items for our 2nd Annual
Amanda Geissler Memorial Foundation Golf Outing on June 8, 2024. With the funds raised through this
event, we will be able to provide support locally to The Open Door Clinic, and globally working with the
Otra Cosa Network. The demand for healthcare in the Chippewa Fall is high and we are hoping to
provide as much support as possible to The Open Door Clinic. Otra Cosa Network is a nonprofit
organization in Huanchaco, Peru that was very near and dear to Amanda’s heart as she volunteer with
the organization in 2014. The nonprofit has an education based mission that provides English language
development to women and children.

The Amanda Geissler Memorial Foundation will gratefully accept any items to be used for raffle
purposes at the Amanda Geissler Memorial Foundation Golf Outing at Whispering Pines Golf Course in
Cadott, Wisconsin. Anything and everything will be gratefully accepted.
