Our annual Bereavement Program event is taking place on April 12th at a local brewery (Other Half Brewing).  As part of this event, we will be holding a silent auction. The money findraised at this event directly impacts families in our area that have been impacted by the loss of a child due to a congenital heart defect. 

Every year in the U.S., 40,000 babies (1 in 110) are born with a congenital heart defect (CHD). Nearly 25% of these tiny babies will need heart surgery or other medical interventions just to survive. Their lives, while often very rich, happy and seemingly normal, are often shadowed by the next cardiology appointment, health issues or even the next heart surgery, for there is often no cure. Mended Little Hearts of Greater Rochester, NY, a support program for parents of children with heart defects and heart disease, is dedicated to inspiring hope in those who care for the littlest heart patients of all. Mended Little Hearts offers resources and a caring support network as families find answers and move forward to find healing and hope.

Unfortunately, there are heart babies and kids that pass away while in the hospital. MLH has partnered with Smallprint Rochester to offer the family a memory piece of their child's hand or footprint. This print is then handmade into a beautiful PURE silver charm for the family.  It is because of donations to the MLH bereavement Program that we are able to purchase these gifts for the courageous families. 

We would be honored if you would donate an item or items (gift certificate, etc) that we can use in the silent auction. All donations are tax deductible and we will provide a Statement of Contribution upon receipt. All funds will be used to help support local families that have lost a child to CHD. Any donations can be picked up at your convenience.
