2023 Bowl-A-Thon Fundraiser
Other Event Type for The Foundation for Deaf EducationNov 12, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Come together and have a great time doing it. 100% of proceeds from this fun event will go directly to the students at St. Mary's School for the Deaf.
Every $1000 raised allows us to enrich a single student with exeptional educational, athletic, and recreational opportunities. Our students come from near and far to share in the over 25 unique programs and activities, such as the Residential Program, New American Program, Deaf Infant Program, Summer Program, and Work-Study Program. Your suppor helps us to continue to offer these programs and activities so we can help all our students, not just one.
St. Mary's School for the Deaf has played a vital role in providing equitable access to exemplary educational programs that prepare deaf students to be self-directed, lifelong learners, who are productive members of society since 1853. St. Mary's School for the Deaf (SMSD) is a Nationally Accredited, non-for-profit educational organization that serves children ages 0-21, their families, and their communities, from all eight counties of Western New York. It relies solely on the generosity of fundraising and community partnerships for funding. With the "more the merrier" concept, SMSD has increased its student population to include refugees, and children with additional physical, cognitive, and behavioral disablities.
We, the Foundation for Deaf Education, were founded in 1997 to improve the quality of life for the students at SMSD by funding those programs that are not covered by New York State Legislative Appropriation. This includes anything that occurs outside of academic hours or off campus. We also promote the awareness of SMSD and deaf culture among the community and across Western New York.
We've come a long way, but we have further to go. We won't stop our journey until every child is helped.
