Here is a bit about what our charity does:

In one of the wealthiest counties in the wealthiest country in the world, no child should ever go hungry.   Most county residents are unaware that over 55,000 Montgomery County students (which is over 35% of the student population), are part of the federal Free And Reduced Meal program in school (FARM).  This means that the children are given breakfast and lunch in school Monday thru Friday at a free or reduced fee. This school program is helpful; however there is a glaring gap in this plan - weekends. 

That is why Kids In Need Distributors (KIND) was started over 10 years ago.  We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization (EIN: 80-0789869). All donations are fully tax-deductible.

The idea behind KIND is to send kids home on weekends with a backpack filled with nutritious meals and snacks to help provide some food until the kids return to school on Monday. 

Currently, KIND is providing support for over 3,00 kids in 28 different Montgomery County schools. KIND has only one part-time paid position, so all individual donations go directly to the costs of our program to provide for these food-insecure kids.
