Annual Dinner & Auction
Gala/Party for Maturango Museum of Indian Wells ValleySep 30, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM
The Maturango Museum's Annual Dinner and Auction is our largest fundraiser. There are 3 categories of auctions, live, silent, and raffle. We are a small, close knit community in a rural location. Our community is very generous in supporting local non-profits.
The Maturango Museum's mission is to preserve, interpret, and develop an appreciation for the natural and cultural history of the Northern Mojave Desert through research and education in the natural and physical sciences, and to promote the arts. Founded in 1962, the Maturango Museum is an important educational and cultural resource in Ridgecrest, California. In addition to the exhibit galleries, which feature the natural and cultural history of the Upper Mojave Desert, the Museum sponsors art exhibits, cultural programs and tours. Those tours include trips to the world-famous Coso petroglyphs. The Museum is an information center for Death Valley, the Northern Mojave Desert, and the Highway 395 and 178 corridors.
Even with our many and valued volunteer hours every year and the generous donations from people and businesses in our community, the last 3 1/2 years have been very challenging, from the earthquakes in July 2019 to Covid-19 shutdown, there are still many sources of income which have not fully recovered.
