For 136 years, the Osterhout Free Library has served the residents of Wilkes-Barre and all of Luzerne County. Through floods, wars and pandemics, the Osterhout adapts and modifies in order to maintain its service to our community. We invite you to support this important public library by participating in the Annual Gala and Auction: Around the World in 80 Days. Last year’s Gala and Online Auction raised over $158,000 for the Osterhout to support educational programs, purchase materials for the library and support four branches that serve the diverse and growing population of Luzerne County, PA. Funds raised from this event will support our early literacy outreach efforts in the community to our most at-risk children, help patrons in their educational and professional endeavors, and enhance our public library services.

We would be incredibly grateful if you could support the silent auction portion of the event by donating a gift certificate, gift basket or other goods.  This year, the online auction will run from Tuesday, September 2 to Saturday, September 6. Your donation and business will be highlighted at the in-person event and with photos on the online auction page. Your business and donation will also be featured on library social media pages which reach over 30,000 accounts each month! Best of all, 100% of the proceeds raised will go directly to the library!
