The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville takes great pride in the development of our student-athletes.  Not only are we preparing these young individuals to be successful well beyond their playing days, we are preparing  them to help shape a changing world.  Recently, we just completed our 32nd consecutive semester finishing with a department wide grade point average of 3.0 or higher.  Not only have we had 16 years of academic excellence, we recently just learned that we are ranked #1 in the Ohio Valley Conference with regard to student-athlete graduation rates and also ranked #5 in the nation!  We will always put the well-being and success of our student-athletes on and off the court above all else.

The Red & Black Benefit is the department’s largest fundraiser which includes both a live and silent auction. This initiative strives to eliminate financial constraints placed on student-athlete scholarships and experiences to help our student-athletes achieve their academic and athletic goals.

In March 2022, our athletics fundraiser was an overwhelming success with over 300 attendees from across the Illinois and St. Louis area. Your support takes our event to the next level by providing the programming needed to entertain our guests.  That support will be prominently featured at the event in our program “support our supporters” that will list contact details for each business.

By donating a product or service for the Red & Black Benefit, you will be enhancing our student-athlete experience at SIUE by relieving the financial burden placed on students. All donations are greatly appreciated and a portion of each are eligible for tax deductions. We appreciate any donation you are willing to give – large or small!
