Description

Cherokee High School is home to one of the finest band programs in South Jersey.  Our student musicians may choose to perform in the Marching Band, Color Guard, Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Symphonic Band and Pep Band. These students dedicate many hours as they perform and compete against the very best talent throughout New Jersey and the East Coast.  In 2014 our Cherokee Marching Band won the National Championships for Group 5A and in 2016 and 2017 they won the New Jersey State Championships in Group 4A. In2019 they were the Tournament of Bands Region 1 Group 3 Open Class Champs and in 2022 and 2023 they were Cavalcade of Bands Yankee Open Conference State Champions as well as taking Silver in the Cavalcade Nationals both years!

Every spring our award winning Jazz Ensemble competes in the New Jersey Association for Jazz Education’s Jazz Festival.  Our Concert Band and award winning Wind Ensemble continue the tradition of excellence, competing in the South Jersey Band & Orchestra Directors Association Region III Wind Band Festival and the U.S. Bands Eastern Wind Band Festival.

Although our students have always worked to raise funds, with budget constraints and funding restrictions, it is increasingly difficult to continue our proud tradition of outstanding music programs and experiences without outside help.  The Cherokee Band Boosters Association, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization formed to support the students and the school in these endeavors.

On April 18, 2024, we will host our Annual Spring Dinner and Basket Auction at Indian Spring Country Club in Marlton. This event is well attended by approximately 200 family members, friends and community members.  All proceeds from this fundraiser help defray the costs of instruments, uniform repair and accessories, support equipment, transportation, special chamber ensembles, master classes and other necessary expenses.

It is our sincere hope that your organization will consider supporting our efforts by donating an item of merchandise, service or a gift certificate to be included in a basket for our raffle. Perhaps you would consider donating a complete basket that represents your company or product.

Any form of donation is greatly appreciated.  If you are unable to mail your donation, arrangements can be made to have the donation picked up at your place of business.

On behalf of the students, staff and parents of the Cherokee High School band programs, THANK YOU for any support you are able to give to us.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,
