Ladder Up is a nonprofit organization committed to providing hardworking families and individuals with the financial resources and opportunities they need to move up the economic ladder. Ladder Up provides free financial programs to help clients secure the tax refunds they deserve, gain the knowledge to navigate today’s complex financial systems, and obtain financial aid to make college dreams a reality. Annually, with the support of its volunteers and partners, Ladder Up prepares over 37,000 tax returns during the tax season, securing more the $17.3M in refunds for clients.

Ladder Up is hosting its 15th annual Spring Gala & Silent Auction event on May 8th, 2021. Please consider donating to the Silent Auction. With every dollar donated to Ladder Up, the organization returns $27 in economic benefits to clients. Each year, the organization aims to increase the number of families receiving free tax help, as well as raise awareness of critical tax credits, including the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), which can total more than $6,200 per return. Unfortunately, one out of five people who qualify for the EITC does not claim it. In Illinois, 55% of taxpayers who do claim the EITC file their taxes through a paid preparer, which can cost more than $300 per return. A silent auction donation will be highlighted on the silent auction website in advance of the event the Casino Night event.
